How does it work?
A single treatment creates hundreds of thousands of microchannels. In response to each micro-injury, an inflammatory healing process begins which initiates the formation of new collagen. The repeated healing process improves the surface texture and overall appearance of the skin.
How long before I can expect to see results?
New collagen production can take several weeks but many of our clients report having tighter, brighter & more glowing skin within the first week after treatment. We recommend 2-3 treatments for bolder results which results in thicker more robust, collagen filled cellular cells. And 6 or more treatments may be recommended for scarring, laxity and wrinkles for noticeable results. It's time to get your skin glowing!
What can I expect after the treatment?
Post-procedure, most people report a “tight” feeling in their skin. After treatment, you may have mild swelling or redness for a day. Neocollagenesis takes several weeks until you see visible changes in the health and appearance of your skin. For the best results, schedule follow-up sessions every four to six weeks. Many patients receive three to six treatments to achieve their goals.
How often should I get this treatment?
There is little downtime with microchanneling. We recommend once every month, or every other month based on your skin goals.
How many treatments are recommended?
The number of recommended treatments can vary significantly depending on what we are treating. For light anti-aging treatments, 1-2 sessions can be adequate. For deeper wrinkles and acne scarring, a more intensive approach with 4-6 treatments may be necessary to achieve the desired results. There is no limit to the number of treatments you can receive.
Can I pair Microneedling with other treatments?
Yes! Depending on your skin goals, Microneedling can be combined with our DMK Enzyme Therapy, HydroGlow, & Factor Five Peel Facials.
What areas can be treated?
Microneedling can treat all areas of the body. Our client's most commonly request face, neck & chest for anti-aging, but we can also treat the abdomon and thigh area for stretch marks as well as surgical scars.
What are the Contraindications?
If you have any underlying condition that significantly impairs your immune system, it is a good idea to avoid microchanneling. Examples include but are not limited to active radiation or chemotherapy, uncontrolled diabetes, chronic inflammatory skin disease, Accutane in the past 2 years, hemophilia or similar bleeding disorder. Also anyone with stainless steel allergies should not do this treatment. We also discourage treatments for those who are pregnant or nursing.
